Today was full of powerful moments during our Adopt-A-Block outreach ??? We passed out food blessing bags in the community and spent time praying over families. One of our Short Term Missions volunteers prayed out loud over a stranger for the very first time—and afterward, she said with tears in her eyes, “I didn’t want to stop.” ?? It ignited something in her faith, and we know it’s just the beginning!

And a huge shoutout to Emily from @brookstoneavl who showed up with a specific item a mom and her two babies had asked for at the last Adopt-A-Block. The mom was shocked she remembered—and deeply moved by the kindness and follow-through. ?✨This is what it looks like when the Church shows up with hearts full of compassion and hands ready to serve.

Thank you to @ashevillepolice who showed up and showed out at Hillcrest Kid’s Mentorship program! This was a powerful reminder of the impact of hands-on mentorship and community support. The Asheville Police Department went above and beyond, spending one-on-one time with the kids and making a cookout happen.

There is a deep need for boots-on-the-ground mentorship in our community. We can all make a difference by showing up, building trust, and helping guide the next generation. It’s not just about giving; it’s about investing in the younger generation, building relationships, and empowering them to succeed.

Today our Adopt-a-Block team hit the streets with armfuls of over 200 roses, going door to door to love on the incredible moms in our community—single moms, grieving moms, and every kind of mother in between. Each flower, donated by a generous local florist, was a simple yet powerful reminder: You are seen. You are loved. You matter. Today was about more than just flowers—it was about hope, healing, and honoring the hearts of mothers who give so much.

Shoutout to the amazing women from the @gfcshrewsbury team and another from Alabama who poured love and creativity into making homemade Mother’s Day cards! These heartfelt notes will be handed out to moms in our community to remind them how deeply valued they are. These aren’t just pieces of paper; they’re reminders to mothers who may feel forgotten or overwhelmed that they matter, that they are not alone, and that their love and sacrifice haven’t gone unnoticed.

It’s in these small, intentional acts of kindness that the heart of Jesus shines so clearly. We are so thankful for this team and the love they are spreading! Love in action looks like this!

Since Hurricane Helene, nearly 400 individuals have stepped into the mission field with the Asheville Dream Center—each one carrying hope, compassion, and the love of Jesus into some of the most broken places in our city.

They’ve come from churches all over the country, giving up their comfort, time, and resources—not for recognition, but to simply *be* the hands and feet of Jesus. They’ve prayed with the hurting, fed the hungry, embraced the lonely, and reminded the forgotten that they are seen, known, and deeply loved.

What happens here is more than a trip—it’s transformation. Not just for those we serve, but for those who come to serve. Every outreach is a chance to make Jesus known in word and in action.

“I can sleep perfect!” ♥️

When Hurricane damage forced Dejah and her two daughters to relocate, they were left with nothing but mattresses on the floor. Thanks to a connection through The Salvation Army, we were able to step in and create Dream Rooms for her little girls—3-year-old My’onna got a Bluey-themed room and her big sister Dhazni (not pictured) received a princess set to come home to after school. Seeing their joy—especially when they opened their beaded play sets—was priceless. And the gratitude that was shown through this mother’s eyes was worth a million words.

But there are still so many more children in our city sleeping on the floor. For our May Adopt A Block Outreach, we’re on a mission to fund 50 Dream Rooms by May 31st. Each room is $400 and provides a bed frame and mattress, bedding, and a toy to remind a child they are loved and seen! Help us reach our $20,000 goal—let’s turn hurt into hope, one Dream Room at a time.

The smiles on their faces is a reminder of the restoration of hope that we are working hard to bring to families who have lost everything. Rebuilding lives devastated by Helene is a long haul journey that we are dedicated to seeing to fruition. ?️

The Asheville Dream Center was able to connect a local teacher who was widowed and been through one of the hardest seasons of her life to a family that decided to bless her with their car. She was desperate for one after her car was unable to run. Through our partnership with Buncombe County Schools, we were able to directly connect the family to meet the need. Tears came and Hope was given! ?

Our mission is to make Jesus known and inspire others to serve. This is what can happen when people step out to serve. Lives are transformed.

Easter Outreach Adopt-A-Block

What an amazing day serving the community today! We passed out Easter baskets to kiddos and had an egg hunt event for all the families! Huge shoutout to @brookstoneavl for hosting us for Rally before we went out to serve today! And Francesca for putting together 250 baskets full of goodies! Thank you to @worldvisionusa for all of the produce for families!! It was an amazing day serving our city and making Jesus known!

Monday, our Short Term Missions team joined in Adopt-A-Block outreach delivering Easter baskets to kids and essential needs for families! While they were out visiting with families, they learned that it was a very special young ladies birthday! They dropped everything to run to the store and get her a cake, card, and balloons to make her feel loved and special! This is what it’s all about. Ministry looks different every day. What a blessing to be used as vessels for Jesus!

Sunday, Brookstone Church invited the ADC to share with their congregation on serving opportunities that are in their city! We were honored to be a part of this day celebrating our partnership with you!

This young girl and her brother had been sleeping on air mattresses or the floor. We were able to provide them not only beds, but also curtains, rugs, and decor to make their rooms feel like home. We love seeing their faces light up with gratitude and joy when they see their new room that was designed just for them. God is in the details! 

Convoy of Hope sent a missions team of youth from Missouri to come volunteer with us last week. During their trip, they helped demo a home and work shed for individuals affected by Hurricane Helene! Thank you team for serving so selflessly!

New Smyrna Church Team served with such purity of heart this past week! They embodied our mission statement of making Jesus known and inspiring others to serve. Between home rebuilding, street ministry, Adopt-A-Block and Kid's Mentorship, they gave hope to so many and served selflessly. We can't wait to see them real soon!

Huge thank you to the York Dream Center Missions Team for bringing hope and light to those in WNC! Some of the projects they participated in was the start of our first complete home rebuild, delivering needs to Adopt-A-Block families, and doing urban street ministry in downtown Asheville with the homeless population. They were truly a joy to be around and we can't wait until they come back!

This precious girl prayed to Jesus for almost an hour after receiving her brand new bed. She was so thankful to have a bed of her own. She kept saying "Thank you Jesus". What we take for granted, she took as a miracle.

This single mom was overwhelmed with emotion when her kids received beds today. She just cried and cried with gratitude, thanking God for hearing her prayers. We got to love on her and her babies today at Adopt-A-Block. That’s what it’s all about. ♥️

Another Camper providing warmth and safety to a couple who were displaced by Hurricane Helene! This RV is more than just a home. This RV it’s HOPE for a family that’s lost so much! In addition to provided more campers for families in need of housing, we are preparing to begin rebuilding homes! We are in this for the long haul and we will need many hands!

Being able to give this couple an RV today was so special. They have been through so much. From dealing with serious health issues to losing their daughter 10 years ago, this couple has fought to never give up. When Hurricane Helene happened, they asked “what do we do? How do we go on?”. The home that they raised their kids in had been deemed unlivable by FEMA. With mold growing from the basement up to the first floor, they were having to wear a mask at home just to try and keep from becoming sick over and over again. Today, thanks to another incredible couple, we were able to provide them with a RV Camper and $1,000 so they can find a sense of normalcy again. Seeing her take her mask off and breathe in clean air was just beautiful. This is why we do what we do. To see people have hope again. To dream again. To be restored. Even when most would be “off”, we will not stop meeting the needs of others.
