Hurricane Helene Story
This lovely couple have lived in their home for over 40 years. This home has been passed down for several generations and is over 100 years old. The couple met as teenagers who lived just houses from each other. Even though they were a military family, the mountains were always their home.
The flood waters from Hurricane Helene rushed into their home, ripped up the wooden boards, and mold soon began to set in after the storm. It is unlivable. Their family was able to provide a small space for them to stay but it could not compare to having a place of their own.
Thanks to the generosity of our partners, we were able to provide them with an All-Seasons Camper to live in to remain safe and warm from the winter temperatures that are quickly approaching! If you would like to help other displaced families, donate today at ashevilledreamcenter.org/give!
